What to do with a collection of undelivered letters from the trunk of a seventeenth-century postmaster from The Hague? Using advanced scanning technology it was possible to read these unopened letters without breaking the seal. In this Summer School musicologist Rebekah Ahrendt views the letters as sound objects that reveal different voices from the past: from hairdressers and opera singers to noblemen.
