About this concert

A top-ranking female singer, four nimble-fingered born musicians, the monumental Buxheimer Codex and a stiff dose of idiosyncrasy: the recipe for a first-rate concert. Guillermo Pérez and David Catalunya now belong among the elite of superior keyboard players, and are at their very best in this prize-winning programme of chansons and ballades by Dufay, Binchois, Ciconia and contemporaries. A major role is played by the eschiquiers: early keyboard instruments whose strings are struck with hammers.

About the performers

Clavicytheria, clavicordia and Gothic organs: Tasto Solo employs the most varied historical keyboard instruments in order to rediscover the important keyboard repertoire from the 14th and 15th centuries. This basic principle naturally entails the accurate reconstruction of the instruments, but the link with the vocal music of that period is also not overlooked. In 2006 Tasto Solo won the prestigious IYAP Early Music Award in Antwerp, and since then has given concerts worldwide.
