About the performers
Ensemble Leones, founded in 2008, focuses its attention exclusively on medieval music. Research enables the ensemble to present subtle reconstructions and stylistically accurate arrangements of repertoire that has been hidden for ages – for example, songs by the German Minnesinger Neidhart von Reuental and the poet and composer Oswald von Wolkenstein. Leones regularly collaborates with soloists such as Andreas Scholl and Benjamin Bagby. The musicians also perform with many other ensembles, including Ensemble Gilles Binchois, the Ferrara Ensemble and The Earle His Viols.
