About the performers
Nienke van der Meulen studied recorder at the Utrecht Conservatorium and in Berlin, Musicology at Utrecht University and Baroque oboe in Paris. Already during her studies she played in the most important baroque orchestras of the world, such as Ton Koopman’s Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and Concerto Copenhagen. In 2019 she founded her own ensemble: Les Musiciens du Moulin. In addition to being an excellent and energetic musician, Nienke is also a passionate storyteller during the concerts she gives.
Following her studies with Pieter van Veen and Walter van Hauwe, Reine-Marie Verhagen started her career as a musician and educator. She was a teacher (main subject teacher of recorder, ensemble and methodology) at the ArtEZ Academy of Music in Enschede, the Utrechts Conservatorium and the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. Since Reine-Marie Verhagen sees it as an important task to pass on knowledge and to maintain contacts in education, she was involved in the foundation of the European Recorder Teachers Association.
Kim Stockx, born in the Netherlands, studied recorder with Dorothea Winter and Daniël Brüggen at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in 2009, Kim decided to study further with a second Bachelor study - Dulcian, Baroque bassoon and Classical bassoon - with Donna Agrell, Wouter Verschuren and Alberto Grazzi. In 2012 Kim received her second Bachelor's degree and in 2014 her Master's degree, both cum laude. Kim plays in various baroque orchestras and ensembles such as Holland Baroque, Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Collegium Marianum Prague, PRJCT Amsterdam, Cappella Maria Barbara and Bachakademie Stuttgart.
