About this concert
The cosmopolitan piano virtuoso Jan Ladislav Dussek performed all
over Europe in the last decades of the 18th century. In his 'Twelve progressive lessons for the Piano Forte' we hear the different countries reflected in its characteristic movements, from rondo and sonata form to variations and dances. This concert was recorded during the Utrecht Early Music Festival 2020.

About the performer
Ursula Dütschler was born in Thun (Switzerland) and received her first harpsichord lesson at the age of five. She studied at the conservatoire in Bern with Jörg Ewald Dähler and with Kenneth Gilbert at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. In 1990 she began studying fortepiano with Malcolm Bilson at Cornell University in the United States. Her extensive discography with Claves Records includes, in addition to chamber music performances, recordings of solo works by Bach, Balbastre, Byrd, Scarlatti and Beethoven. Ursula Dütschler has built up an all-round concert career on both instruments and can be heard on many different stages and festivals, both as a soloist and in various chamber music ensembles.
