About this concert
Narrating and translating, writing and editing, composing and transcribing: every language is fluid, including music’s own language. In the eighteenth century Marais’ opera Alcide, composed in collaboration with Louis Lully, was performed and arranged several times for harpsichord. The young French harpsichordist Marie van Rhijn proves that these rich transcriptions have still not lost any of their power.
