About this concert
With stunningly beautiful voices, intense performances and moving interpretations, Stephan MacLeod and Gli Angeli Genève guarantee musical experiences with maximum impact. We predict vocal brilliance during this performance of sections of Israelis Brünnlein: spiritual songs by Johann Hermann Schein that bring together the traditional motet form with Italian expression. These madrigals are displayed to full advantage in the Domkerk.
Programme
-
Johann Hermann Schein
O Herr, ich bin dein Knecht
Freue dich des Weibes deiner Jugend
Die mit Tränen säen
Wende dich, Herr, und sei mir gnädig
Zion spricht: Der Herr hat mich verlassen
Ich bin jung gewesen
Der Herr denket an uns
Da Jakob vollendet hatte
Ist nicht Ephraïm mein teurer Sohn
Siehe an die Werk Gottes
Unser Leben währet siebnzig Jahr
Herr, lass meine Klage
Ach Herr, ach meiner schone
Was betrübst du dich, meine Seele
Ich bin die Wurzel des Geschlechtes David
Lehre uns bedenken
