About this concert
Thanks to an illustrious dynasty of composers connected with Milan Cathedral, the shadows of the galant style spread there into the nineteenth century. Coro Ghislieri reconstructs a mass as it might have sounded from the cathedral’s choir balconies in 1805-1813. Expect traditional cantus firmus repertoire, one-part Ambrosian chants and rousing concertato music from Fioroni to Quaglia.

About the performers
Coro e Orchestra Ghislieri came into being when Giulio Prandi, Maria Cecilia Farina, Mario Bianchi and Alberto Guerrero started working together, and it consists of some of the most talented musicians in Italy. As well as presenting music by established names, they also like to re-introduce obscure works to their audience. In 2013 the ensemble embarked on a special partnership with the Fondation Royaumont.
