About this concert

Despite an age difference of a mere ten years, the Irish harpist Turlough O'Carolan’s music was already material for Georg Philipp Telemann to reuse. Violinist Daria Spiridonova shares with these composers a fascination with sound worlds in which folk traditions and great art meet. Her listeners are given the unique opportunity of joining her on the stage of the Great Hall for an intimate midnight reverie.

About the performer

In the spring of 2019, during the international H.I.F. Biber Competition in Austria, Daria Spiridonova attracted special attention with her unique combination of sensitivity and charisma. The professional jury and the music press awarded this artist, who is still in her twenties, no fewer than two prizes honouring both her technical excellence and her valuable interpretation of Austrian baroque music. With a programme dedicated to Tartini and Vilsmayr, this young lioness with a passion for early music can now also be admired on Dutch stages.
