About this concert
Intellect, insight and a golden intuition: Ensemble Leones has it all, including an irrepressible passion for masterpieces from the Middle Ages and Renaissance. This will be an enjoyable virtual encounter between the Burgundian greats Gilles Binchois and Guillaume Dufay, two eminent songsmiths who have been commemorated by subsequent generations in the form of numerous musical revisions.

About the performers
Ensemble Leones, founded in 2008, focuses its attention exclusively on medieval music. Research enables the ensemble to present reconstructions and arrangements of repertoire that has been hidden for ages – for example, songs by the German Minnesinger Neidhart von Reuental and the poet and composer Oswald von Wolkenstein. Leones regularly collaborates with soloists such as Andreas Scholl and Benjamin Bagby. The musicians also perform with many other ensembles, including Ensemble Gilles Binchois, the Ferrara Ensemble and The Earle His Viols.
