The International Van Wassenaer Competition challenges young ensembles to give the best of themselves in a thrilling competition. With fascinating Baroque programmes, compelling  performances and technical tours de force, they try to charm the jury and the audience. Discover the stars of tomorrow and cheer on your favourites. The best ensembles battle for gold in the final on Friday 2 September 2022.

About the performers

Ensemble Amaltheia was founded in 2021, after clarinettist Erick Roja Toapanta and cellist Héctor Hervás Veredas faced each other in the final of the Grachtenfestival Conservatorium Concours. The ensemble is focused on historically informed performance practice and at the same time the ensemble members like to push the boundaries, and sometimes go beyond them, always resulting in lively performances.
