About this concert
One rooted in French tradition, the other with both feet in Germany’s Italophile scene. One a regular guest of Le Concert Spirituel in Paris, the other the key figure of the court orchestra in Dresden. What connects Michel Blavet and Pierre-Gabriel Buffardin? Their contribution to Rococo flute music: perfect and inspiring material for Frank Theuns’ traverso.
About the performers
Frank Theuns is specialised in playing the Baroque flute and recorder. He has played in Europe's most famous Baroque orchestras, such as Le Concert des Nations, La Petite Bande, The Netherlands Bach Society and Anima Eterna Brugge. Since 1989, he has taught Baroque flute in Brussels and Leuven and has given master classes all over the world. With his ensemble Les Buffardins, he has performed and recorded a large portion of the Baroque flute repertoire.
