About this concert
His most talented descendant? Wilhelm Friedemann, according to Johann Sebastian Bach himself. But the innovative and extremely difficult music of his eldest son has never managed to move the masses. il Convito, with Maude Gratton at the helm, ventures into W.F.'s exquisite oeuvre of concertos for harpsichord and strings: music that defies classification and proves that one family can produce several geniuses.

About the performers
Maude Gratton (*1983) studied harpsichord, organ, basso continuo, counterpoint and harmony in Poitiers and Paris. In 2015 she founded the chamber ensemble il Convito, which later grew into a larger orchestra with a repertoire ranging from Bach to Mendelssohn. Gratton and her ensemble advocate a creative approach that explores the relationship between music, other art forms and history.
