About this concert

Humanist Antonio Alberti’s garden in Florence, 1389: this was the final destination of the five-part epic Il Paradiso degli Alberti written by Giovanni Gherardi da Prato around 1425. Against this background, laReverdie and organetto specialist Christophe Deslignes paint a tableau focussing on the blind composer Francesco Landini: one of the historical celebrities that Giovanni presents in his philosophical paradise.

About the performers

In 1986 two pairs of young sisters from Italy founded laReverdie: an ensemble named after the poetic genre of the same name in which the arrival of spring is hailed. The musicians live up to that premise, because more than 30 years later the now world-famous ensemble is just as fresh and surprising as it ever was. In line-ups of varying size and with both vocal and instrumental repertoire from the Middle Ages and Renaissance, laReverdie stands for confident performances rooted in thorough research, natural virtuosity and musical camaraderie.
