About this concert

Although the opulent mass repertoire forged around L'homme armé suggests that all of Europe knew 'the armed man', in Spain only three polyphonists worked with the melody. Cristóbal de Morales immediately did so twice. Officium Ensemble presents his five-part mass (1540) alongside a selection of the best of what the Iberian Renaissance has to offer.
