About this concert
The revival of the early keyboard repertoire is due to passionate pathfinders like Arnold Dolmetsch. The attraction of his concert tours were the period instruments, which produced unheard-of sound sensations. Skip Sempé echoes Dolmetsch's ethos in this harpsichord recital with works by virtuoso virginalists such as Gibbons and Tomkins but above all, central to this recital, the brilliant William Byrd who died exactly 400 years ago.
