About this concert
As happens with today’s hit parade, hits from eighteenth-century opera theatres were published in all kinds of arrangements. Every amateur musician could find something to their liking, from simple song to artful gem. Soprano Elisabeth Hetherington joins the Postscript ensemble for a both sublime and intimate round of applause arias by Johann Adolph Hasse, George Frideric Handel and Giovanni Battista Bononcini.

About the performers
The core members of the Dutch ensemble Postscript are Aysha Wills (traverso), David Westcombe (traverso), Octavie Dostaler-Lalonde (cello) and Artem Belogurov (harpsichord). After winning the first prize at the international Brothers Graun Competition (DE) in 2018, Postscript performed a series of concerts in Germany. In June 2019 they recorded their first CD Introductio for the Dutch label TRPTK. The ensemble members share a passion for exploring new ways to approach old music, through the use of both historical research and experimentation.
Soprano Elisabeth Hetherington is one of the most outstanding interpreters of ancient and contemporary repertoire. Elisabeth graduated cum laude from the Master of Historical Performance at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2016, she founded the ensemble Duo Serenissima with which she performs at festivals and in concert series worldwide. In 2022, she received the Dutch Classical Talent Award. Besides her career as a singer, Elisabeth has received much attention for her research on the original pronunciation of Elizabethan English.
