About this concert
Songs by minor British composers are often overlooked. Perhaps this is because of their brevity. Aysha Wills, Artem Belogurov and Lucía Caihuela are convinced that, between folk tune and ambitious aria, there is a vast repertoire of beautiful music to discover. Their selection of songs from British Musical Miscellany and the Caledonian Pocket Companion counts as proof.

About the performers
Aysha Wills emigrated from Canada to the Netherlands in 2011 to study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. After completing majors in historical flutes and modern flute, she obtained the master's degree Flute in Historical Perspective. She is a founding member of the early music ensemble Postscript. Her debut CD as a soloist, a recording of Johann Sebastian Bach's flute sonatas, appeared in 2022.
Whether it is the modern concert grand piano, harpsichord, the clavichord or various types of historical pianos: Artem Belogurov feels at home with them. He was born in Latvia, grew up in Ukraine and has lived in Amsterdam since 2014. He is active as a soloist, with his duo partner the cellist Octavie Dostaler-Lalonde and as a member of the ensemble Postscript. In the Netherlands, he has performed in venues including the Utrecht Early Music Festival and Wonderfeel festival. In 2018, he was one of the founders of MouseEar, a small, nomadic concert organisation that organises concerts around historical keyboard instruments in various places in and outside Amsterdam.
After studying at the Conservatorio Arturo Soria in Madrid, soprano Lucía Caihuela specialised in historical performance practice at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2019, she graduated cum laude with Xenia Meijer. She has sung with the Nederlandse Bachvereniging, Collegium 1704, Al Ayre Español, Seconda Pratica and L'Apothéose Ensemble, among others, and worked with conductors Jos van Veldhoven, Václav Luks, Richard Egarr and Philippe Herreweghe. Her favourite genres are Italian madrigal, Spanish polyphony, French mélodie and baroque opera.
