About this concert
Making three centuries of keyboard music in 23 books accessible again to new generations of performers and listeners: such was Louise and Aristide Farrenc's ambitious project. Published between 1861 and 1872, their series Le Trésor des Pianistes functioned as a conduit of key Baroque repertoire. Canadian harpsichordist Anders Muskens honours them with works by Mattheson, Handel and Rameau.

About the performer
Anders Muskens is a Canadian early music specialist in keyboard instruments. He started playing the piano at the age of four and obtained his first diploma at the Toronto Conservatory of Music. For his master's degree, he studied with Bart van Oort and Petra Somlai at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. He wrote his master's thesis on the application of late-eighteenth-century rhetorical acting to the performance of music under the supervision of Dr Anna Scott and Dr Jed Wentz. He is now continuing this study with Professor Matthew Gardner and expects to receive his PhD in 2024.
