About this concert
Two pedigree musicians + eight strings + thirteen tunes = one hour of pure festival delight. Daria Spiridonova and Elise Dupont bring out their most impressive bowing skills for this Spanish, Sephardic, Catalan and Portuguese cocktail: a sparkling blend of folk music and instrumental compositions by Domenico Scarlatti, Francisco Tárrega, Antonio Soler, José Herrando and others. Spiridonova herself wrote the arrangements for this exceptional duo recital.

About the performers
With the special combination of delicacy and charisma, Daria Spiridonova attracted attention at the international H.I.F. Biber competition in Austria in spring 2019. The jury of experts and the music press awarded the 20-year-old two prizes, which crowned both her technical excellence and her valuable interpretation of Austrian Baroque music. This was followed in 2020 by a second prize at the international competition for Baroque violinists José Herrando (Onda, Spain).
Elise Dupont studied Baroque violin at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague and the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 2020, Elise was an academist as part of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment's Experience Scheme. Elise is a permanent member and co-founder of Le Concert d'Apollon, an orchestra focused on French Baroque music. She is also part of the Castello Consort, an ensemble specialising in seventeenth-century music.
