About this concert
Sopranista Maayan Licht, recently awarded the title 'Best Newcomer' at the Oper! Awards, performs virtuoso arias by Handel, Vivaldi and Porpora. About the performers
Founded during its members' time at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, BREZZA is a versatile ensemble specialising in historically informed performances of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century music. This includes the entire repertoire for flute and basso continuo, trio sonatas and self-made arrangements. The combination of three instruments (viola da gamba, traverso and harpsichord) plays a crucial role. The use of original instruments or their replicas and a thorough study of performance practice using various treatises and sources are ingredients for BREZZA's main goal: to achieve a performance as close as possible to each composer's original conception.
