About this concert
It is one of those gilt-edged pages in the history of baroque music: the meeting of the young Handel and the legendary Corelli in Rome, 1707. Handel wrote sublime solo parts for Corelli, Corelli shone in Handel's oratorios. The young Flemish baroque ensemble Musica Gloria, lead by organist/harpsichordist Beniamino Paganini and oboist Nele Vertommen, explores how the competitors not only maintained a healthy rivalry, but also a deep friendship.
