About this concert
For centuries, people have been arguing about the ultimate harpsichord sound. Arianna Radaelli unfolds the range of timbres, colours and techniques, including unashamed use of a 16-foot register! From the delicate lute sound in Pachelbel's Fantasia, via the organ-like depth of Buxtehude's Präludium und Fuge and Froberger's intimate Tombeau to Bach's Italian Concerto, she highlights the versatility of the harpsichord. Arrangements of Bach's violin music by Gustav Leonhardt complete the picture.
