About the performers

Quartet Novalis is an ensemble for historical performance practice from New York, consisting of Eliana Estrada, Ela Kodžas, Annemarie Schubert and Luka Stefanović. They rediscover old ideas about sound and musical experience in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century string quartets and use historical instruments to bring out subtle nuances. They performed as the Academy Quartet at the Carmel Bach Festival 2024 and then toured New York. The name refers to the German philosopher Novalis.
