About this concert

The four singers of Contre le Temps delve into the world of 14th-century courtly love. With poetry and music from Le Roman de la Rose and Guillaume de Machaut's Remède de Fortune, a quest for the unattainable rose unfolds. With the power of polyphonic songs and monodic poems, the quartet reveals the fiery desire and mysterious allure of medieval love.
