About this concert
In Das Jahr, Fanny Mendelssohn composed twelve pieces that reflect the rhythm of the months, inspired by her own travels and experiences. From the vibrant spring to the cool silence of winter, the work poetically captures the mood of each month. A complex masterpiece by a composer oppressed by the conventions of her time. Olga Pashchenko brings this musical year to the fortepiano, a continuation of her previous spectacular explorations of Fanny Mendelssohn’s oeuvre.
