About this concert
Perhaps the most captivating and beloved music Bach ever wrote: his solo cantatas for bass. In Ich habe genug, Ich will den Kreuzstab gerne tragen and the excerpt Der Friede sei mit dir, a comforting voice looks back on life, with a hopeful vision of the afterlife. Stephan MacLeod sings and conducts his Gli Angeli Genève, complementing Bach’s spiritual influence with Henry Purcell, Antonio Lotti, and Johann Christoph Bach.
